It's over. Done with. I had a lot of fun though.
Day 1
Hell yeah, Day 1. Day 1 was fun. I wanted to see the Sonic panel at 10 in the morning but I got picked up late and we got lost on the way so there was pretty much no hope of me seeing it. I was disappointed but I later got over it. Since Conundrum and I didn't pre-register to go to the convention like NK did we went into the big ass line to get inside. We saw a few notable coplayers as well as a conversation between two that had me laughing so hard I basically fell out of the line temporarily.
Anywho, once we got just outside of the door the staff there asked if we were pre-registered. NK pointed out that he was and that we weren't which prompted one of the staffers to say "Well then, you're screwed because you got in the wrong line." I was tempted to simply run inside (Conundrum was too) but before we had a chance to one of the female staff members at the convention said she'd let us through but we'd have to split up so that Con and I could get our registration inside and NK could show his pre-registeration to the people he needed to or whatever.
Con and I hopped in the line, filled out the forms and waited to get to the registration desk. The guy in front of us was really annoying because whenever the line would stop for like two seconds he would drop all of his stuff and stand in the way, reading some Fable comic or something, I dunno. We payed for our fee and the registration person asked which anime show badge we wanted. This was a difficult task for me due to the following reasons:
1) I didn't know 90% of the shows they had one those things.
And 2) The ones I did know I didn't really care for much.
I stood there glancing at the choices thinking which one I should pick.
"Full Metal Alchemist? Nah, Donny (NK) or Brandon (Conundrum) will get that one. Code Gay-ass? No way in he--- LUCKY STAR! LUCKY STAR! Yes this will be perfect for me to bug Donny with. :D!!!!!"
I got my badge and then proceeded to find NK in the other line for pre-registration. On the way, I had the idea that I needed to personalize my badge so it would fit my style just a bit more. Good thing I had my Knuckles keychain with me. :3
We found NK, interestingly enough, still in line. Con callled out his name several times but he didn't hear us. Probably because he was too busy zoning out all the horrible catgirls around him. He eventually saw us so we stood there taunting him about how he pre-registered and therefore had to wait in a longer line. It was fun. No real harm in it either. :P NK got his badge, which prompted us to show off which ones we got. I showed NK my Lucky Star one and he got mad. Mission Accomplished. Then it was off to Starbuck and then wandering around since we had no idea where anything was. We eventually found the game room which was massive and had just about anything you'd want to play in it. However, it was obvious what the main attraction was.
After waliking inside we starting looking for Disaster Kirby. We had no idea what he looked like so that proved to be a somewhat difficult task. That is until NK pointed out that he'd be wearing a Disaster Kirby t-shirt. We found him and his shirt eventually and the meeting was well.. cool, in an incredibly awkward sort of way. I wanted to hug him but I knew he wouldn't be too keen on the idea, especially since we just met. I started to feel light-headed after not eating for so long and standing up made my back hurt quite a bit so I decided to part with the group to go by the fountain outside the game room to sit down for a bit. I popped a squat on the steps and felt good that I finally had a chance to rest. That rest was short lived, however.
As I looked downward I caught a glimpse of two black Reebok shoes that were painted over terribly. Red, yellow, and then red again. "Oh no.." I looked up in horror to see some hideous black guy with chipped red paint in his dreads cosplaying as my all-time favorite character, Knuckles the Echidna. I was ready to vomit so I decided to run back into the game room so I wouldn't have to look anymore.
Disaster, NK and Con went over to play some BRAWWWW while I went over to one of the Soulcalibur IV TVs that were conviently placed right next to the Brawl TV the other guys were standing by waiting to play. The first thing that caught my eye was the bottom left corner of the screen which displayed "29 WINS" and a piece of shit Cassanda. I was mad. Then I saw the four player Brawl match on the other side of me with a piece of shit Sonic. Then I got really mad. Later I decided to stand in the Soulcalibur IV line, knowing that NK and the others would show the people brawling a thing or two. Finally I had my chance to sit down next to the guy who was winning. Some chubby Asian kid with glasses who I later found out goes to tourneys!
I picked my main man Yoshimitsu and he picked Siegfried. Best 3 out of 5. I prefer playing best 2 out of 3 but it didn't matter anymore. First match I whooped his ass. Second match was really close and he got lucky and beat me. We each had one win. Then it was bullshit ring out time! I lost best 3 out of five because of it so I had to get up and shake his hand, "good game," whatever. I was pissed because I knew I could beat him.
I went over and told NK what had happened and decided I'd come back later to play some more.
ffffff, this write up is taking forever. I'll type up the rest later. D:

Sounds pretty epic. God, I was so exhausted on Friday from lack of sleep that I was practically stumbling over everything in the dealers' room.
hahahahaha oh man, those wacky cosplayers. You can't avoid them, and very rarely do they not suck.
I want to go to Otakon because it's more oriented towards games than Comic-Con is (or at least, Comic-Con has a lot less information about JRPGs), but at the same time it's pretty far away, and if I had to pick between Otakon or.. I dunno, PAX, I'd probably go with PAX.
But you never know! Someday I may actually be able to go to a convention where it's more likely that people I know will show up.
